Art through Hairstyles

Art can be expressed in many ways. But..have you ever thought through hair? Most styles started in the 1920's to symbolize something. The bobbed and waved hairstyle symbolized the growing freedom of women. But today hairstyles are mostly just to show off. In the 1950's that's really when hairstyles "took off" with the Doe Eye, D.A. and Mop tops. In the 1960's many African Americans wore the afro to symbolize black pride. In the 1980's that's when you see the spike hair, Jheri curls, mohawks, and small braids. Today you see color in hair, mohawks, designs in haircuts, twists, bangs, braids, bowls, etc.

See the design on his sideburns.

Music Video

Music video are part of our everyday lives. We either watch them on our ipods, phones, or computers. But, are they part of art. They are visual but people take them for granted and don't consider them art. Without music videos we would be left just listening to music nothing else. Artists probably put effort on making them look good.

Architecture,is it Art?

There has been circumstances where i see different building and other type of architecture everywhere I go. But I always ask myself is this Art. This has been something very debatable, but in my mid it is. It all start with a drawing that then leads to an actual building being made. I've always wondered how do the architects come up with this ideas. Some of them are very unique or a replica to an object. Just like a binocular building in California. this trend is now turning to sport stadiums where the most interesting one was the "bird's nest" stadium in Beijing, China.  It is very interesting how architecture has evolved from houses made out of rocks to many crazy designs and building that can be considered landmarks for cities.

Questions
1) Do you consider architecture to be a form of art
2) What are some building or landmarks that have caught your attention or seen before?
3) If you were an architect what is something that you would create and why?
